Tour the Ladies of Salem with Trails & Sails 2014! Learn about the histroy of Sa

Learn about Salem's maritime history and view "Lady of Salem" public art through a guided walking tours of the "Ladies." This festive Beautification Committee public art project features over 15 artistically decorated ship figureheads adorning downtown Salem. Tours will focus on Salem's maritime history, the public art project, and Salem's community involvement in public art. Maps for self-guided tours and Lady of Salem photo opportunities will be available. The project is supported by a Salem Cultural Council grant. Visit our website and 'like' LadyofSalem on facebook.

Heritage Day at Maritime Gloucester

On Heritage Day, admission is free at Maritime Gloucester!

Maritime Gloucester is hosting its 11th annual Heritage Day in honor of the Gloucester Schooner Festival 2014.  Come see the schooners docked at the pier including the Ardelle, the Spirit of Massachusetts, and Summerwind.  Admission is FREE for the day. There will be live music, hand crafted maritime gifts, and art exhibit created by the community, touch tanks and exhibits and lots of fun activities for kids!  This year there is also a community lobster bake at 4pm with a great deal on a boiled lobster dinner!

Ipswich Foam Frolic

Kids will love the Foam Frolic Fest in Ipswich!

The Ipswich Fire Department teams up with the Ipswich Recreation Department to bring you the Ipswich Foam Frolic! Kids are invited to come for a brief safety talk, and will be able to see the pumper that will create a large foam area for kids to play in! Sneakers or water shoes are required for safety reasons and small children should wear goggles to keep foam out of their eyes. In additional to being sprayed by foam, there will be music and kids of all can paint tiles for the playground project that will be on permanent display at the playground when completed!
